It happened. The Republican reign is finally over for at least the next four years. Americans have finally grown tired of living in fear of its own government. War, scandal, mockery of justice, we have all endured an administration that had it's own personal interests placed before the American people. I think this is a great milestone, a sign that tolerance has become a part of the American people once again. We have a black president. To hear or write those words is a miracle considering the incredible hurdles black Americans have had to struggle with since being forcefully torn from their homeland and brought to America as slaves. America has shown that we as a people can look past gender and race and truly see what it is important.
People all over the world are rejoicing with the news that Barack Obama is the new leader of the greatest country on earth. Our country now has a leader that believes in the American people. He believes in all Americans. Not just the "Real Americans" that live in predominantly white conservative small town America. I think he will lead our country and the rest of the world in a way that will restore the positive image of the United States. Obama has his eyes straight ahead, right where they need to be.
