So I was having a mild debate with a co-worker today about how I still need to skeptical as to whether or not Obama is going to live up to all hype. I got faith in the man but unfortunately some people out there think that he is just a token player in the race for the white house and how he simply sounds convincing. Whether or not he will live up to the expectations we all have for the total change that he promises to bring us is still yet to be determined. We do need to follow up and make sure that he does what he is saying he is going to do. He seems to be a pretty busy guy since winning everyone's vote but I still have a gut feeling that he isn't just talking shit. Obama geniunely seems to care about what is most important to most Americans: getting the goddamn job done. In California people are rioting after Oscar Grant was shot in the back while being pinned down by a police officer on New Years Day. Nothing like capping an innocent black man in the back while being filmed by onlookers with their cell phone cameras in a busy subway station. In the video you can clearly see one officer pin the man down with his knee while another stands above him, draws his firearm and fire off a round into Grants back. So far an investigation into Grants slaying has not produced any kind of valid reason for why this horrendous crime occurred. I'm sure that this will be just one more incident of an innocent black man being shot for reasons unknown and will be swept under the carpet by the authorities and the media as soon as it is convenient to do so. There may be more to the story but after watching the video, it is apparent to anyone with a functioning brain that the use of deadly force in this incident was completely uncalled for.
