Getting back on my feet

So I had my operation. I had to have a few appointments with the orthopedist to have x-rays and and examination of the knee as well as have a MRI to see exactly what damage had been done. Torn meniscus in my right knee and had to have arthroscopic surgery to repair the torn cartilage. I went in to the hospital a little over a week and a half ago to have the procedure done. I have been in quite a bit of pain so I did not really feel like writing about the nausea, headaches, swelling, loss of movement and general pain in my knee associated with the recovery process. Because of this I have spent a lot of time watching a lot of movies and TV. I have lived a somewhat isolated life the past few weeks because of my inability to move or drive myself anywhere so I have had to delve my brain into the sewage that is produced by TV networks. I normally don't really ever watch TV because I'm usually too busy and to say I am shocked at what I see is an understatement. Depending on the progr...

worn down

This week has been pretty testing. Me and a friend of mine made a trip down to Charlotte this weekend for a grappling tournament and decided to stay with one of my friends. We checked out a bar that my friend works at and had a few shots to get the night started and bumped into three extremely intoxicated young girls that were so drunk they couldn't light their own cigarettes. Being the gentleman that I am I lit a cigarette for one of them and not soon afterward it became apparent that she was a bitch. Not only was she a bitch but and idiot as well because she walked away and left her cell on the bar in front of me, which I proceeded to slip down my sweaty coin slot and released internal gasses that had been trapped inside of me for some time. Not thoroughly done leering at young scantily clad women we decided we should go to a strip club. We said goodbye to my friend and proceeded to a strip club inside of a strip mall where we witnessed an entourage of scags, skeezers and worn ou...

i'm back

So I got laid off. It's been about three weeks and I have taken a lot of time off from everything. I was actually pretty relieved when it happened because I was really starting to hate my job. Mangement sucked, no incentive whatsoever to do a good job and the company I worked for (one of the biggest computer conglomerates in the world) basically doesn't give a shit about their employees. The whole company was basically a big clusterfuck of blowhards. It amazes me that they are able to accomplish anything with how bad communication is within the company and how unorganized their people are. Not to mention the product I was working on before I left which was supposed to generate billions of dollars for the company was an utter complete piece of shit. I can't go into specifics but I can say that it was plagued with intermittent problems and they tried to implement too many bells and whistles which were designed to make the customers swoon. Unfortunately none of their features ...

goodbye bush

So I was having a mild debate with a co-worker today about how I still need to skeptical as to whether or not Obama is going to live up to all hype. I got faith in the man but unfortunately some people out there think that he is just a token player in the race for the white house and how he simply sounds convincing. Whether or not he will live up to the expectations we all have for the total change that he promises to bring us is still yet to be determined. We do need to follow up and make sure that he does what he is saying he is going to do. He seems to be a pretty busy guy since winning everyone's vote but I still have a gut feeling that he isn't just talking shit. Obama geniunely seems to care about what is most important to most Americans: getting the goddamn job done. We got two weeks of the worst administration in the world left ticking off the clock and I'm pretty excited to see Bush leave. I don't hate the guy for all the fuckups that happened while he was in o...

rioting

In California people are rioting after Oscar Grant was shot in the back while being pinned down by a police officer on New Years Day. Nothing like capping an innocent black man in the back while being filmed by onlookers with their cell phone cameras in a busy subway station. In the video you can clearly see one officer pin the man down with his knee while another stands above him, draws his firearm and fire off a round into Grants back. So far an investigation into Grants slaying has not produced any kind of valid reason for why this horrendous crime occurred. I'm sure that this will be just one more incident of an innocent black man being shot for reasons unknown and will be swept under the carpet by the authorities and the media as soon as it is convenient to do so. There may be more to the story but after watching the video, it is apparent to anyone with a functioning brain that the use of deadly force in this incident was completely uncalled for. Grant left behind a 4 year old...
